1. What Is Topical Cases?
Topical Cases is a monthly email subscription service providing you with bang up to date classroom materials hot off Ian Marcouse's computer. It is suitable for Advanced Level courses including A Level, International Baccaleureate and Scottish Highers.
2. Examples of Topical Cases
In 2007/8 there were cases on: people management, marketing, break-even and profit in the context of Harley Davidson, market segmentation, seasonality, capacity utilisation, strategic decision making, investment appraisal, operations management and many more. All have exam-style questions and full exam mark schemes. In addition, Ian produced revision tests, extra worksheets and provided updates on the 2008 changes coming in for A Level. All emailed at the beginning of the key teaching months.

3. Reasons to subscribe:
- Topicality - to bring today's business news into the classroom.
-
Flexibility - providing the material in Word means that you can cut out a question on a topic you have not yet covered, or add in a definition or two if you think it helpful.
-
All the material can be used as you wish, including storing it in a VLE or on a network; there are no network licences or other paperwork to be filled in.
In the 2008/09 academic year the cost is just £49 plus VAT. For that, you are guaranteed 8 email postings containing a substantial case study each month, with a full mark scheme, plus tests, mini-cases, student competitions, worksheets and teacher updates.
All the materials are sent electronically, for you to adapt to your own needs (e.g. school/college logo) or update in future. |
