1. What Is Topical Cases? Topical Cases is a monthly email subscription service providing you with bang up to date classroom materials hot off Ian Marcouse's computer. It is written for Advanced Level Business Studies students: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and CCEA, plus International Baccaleureate and Scottish Highers. Some teachers also use the material for Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
2. Examples of Topical Cases
Recently there have been cases on the 2013 withdrawal of the £100m 'Huggies' brand from the UK, on Apple, on Honda, on John Lewis and much more. All case studies have exam-style questions and full exam marks schemes. In addition, Ian produces revision tests, extra worksheets and book reviews. All were emailed at the start of each teaching month. Click for a sample case -
Reasons to subscribe: Topicality - to add an extra dimension to the resources that support our teaching. Books, magazines and photocopiable packs can never be really up-to-date. Ian's material is carefully researched, and comes with substantial questions and mark schemesFlexibility - providing the material in Word means that you can cut out a question on a topic you have not yet covered, or add in a definition or two if you think it helpful
All the material can be used as you wish, including storing it in a VLE or on a network; there are no network licences or other paperwork to be filled in
In the 2012/13 academic year the cost is just £55 plus VAT. For that, you are guaranteed 8 email postings containing a substantial case study each month, with a full mark scheme. In addition Ian includes a great deal of other material, including tests, mini-cases, student competitions, worksheets and teacher updates. All the materials are sent electronically, for you to adapt to your own needs (e.g. school/college logo) or update in future.
(And, from 2013, there will be Topical Economics as well as Topical Cases; click for a sample) |
